This is how I heard about today's propane explosions in Toronto. Not from CP24, not from CNN - but Twitter. In an emergency, I would now probably check Twitter as a source of information. That's pretty amazing.

The same thing happened with the recent LA Earthquake - Citizen journalism trumped the traditional news feeds. Interestingly http://photojunkie.ca had the first images up hours before 680 News or CP24 or anyone else had reported on any of this.
